Great!

The texture may be a bit weird at first (it's runny-er than more conventional pastes), but this is a great product! Here's what I know: the severe tooth sensitivity is 98% gone, my teeth are actually a bit whiter, my gums are healthier, no cavities or other dental issues, and my mouth just FEELS healthier overall. Which is backed up by the dentist - clean bill of dental health since I started using Peelu many years ago. Also, I am allergic/sensitive to flouride, sls, chemicals etc. and this is my favorite "natural" toothpaste (as if you couldn't tell). One 7 oz tube lasts me a long time; I think I only use something like two a year. The only drawback is that I can no longer find it in stores. Thanks Amazon!

Five stars for stains.

If you are concerned with the taste and texture of toothpaste, this will take a little getting used to. Not as sweet as mainstream toothpastes, not as bitey as Tom's of Maine. I would describe the flavor as mild. And the fibers in it are all together different than anything else.
If you have staining, you will love the result. No harsh bleaching agents to harm your enamel, but especially if you combine it with an electric toothbrush - it will remove the staining wonderfully. I actually had a friend (one who knows I smoke and drink plenty of coffee) how I kept my teeth so white. Gotta love that!

Muslin cloth and a sprig of mint in a blender?

OK. Let me explain my title. This toothpaste does taste like you just threw in some muslin cloth and a few sprigs of mint into a blender and blended it up. For me, it tasted like eating an ear candle-but it wasn't terribly bad. Just an "interesting" taste & texture. I remember paying closer to $8.00 or somewhere around that price but I see the price is now cheaper. What appealed to me was the no fluoride, no silica or other harsh abrasives. It is mildly abrasive but I don't feel like it's eroding my gum line. It is true, however, that little "plant fibers" may get stuck in your teeth and perhaps a quick floss may be necessary & I'd also throw in a quick gargle of mouth wash as you won't come away with an invigorating cool taste-like you can blow icicles out of your mouth-nope. You won't have a "certs" encounter with this toothpaste. But would I buy it again? You bet! I supplement this toothpaste with another brand that I buy at Trader Joe's (health food store)-alternating back and forth. Perhaps PEELU at night and another more invigorating toothpaste in the morning. Anyway, I like the naturalness & the mildness of it. It is certainly worth a try!

Better than any other toothpaste on the market.

This is the most natural toothpaste on the market. I was looking for a toothpaste that did not contain fluoride because of its effect on the brain(pineal gland)and i came across Tom's but even that toothpaste's active ingredient is questionable. I found out about peelu and how its been used for centuries by the ancients and by Indians today.
Mainstream research and government will say that fluoride is good for your teeth, but did you know that fluoride is used in rat poison!!!! Moreover, Hitler used Fluoride to keep his prisoners passive.
Many are programmed fluoride is good for teeth.
In the mid-80s, the largest study ever conducted on fluoridation and tooth decay was performed, using data from 39,000 school children in 84 areas around the country. The results showed no statistically significant difference in rates of tooth decay between fluoridated and non-fluoridated cities.
A 1989 study by the National Institute for Dental Research concluded that 12% of children living in areas artificially fluoridated at just 1 - 4 ppm (part per million) developed dental fluorosis, a permanent discoloration and brittling of the teeth.
Several studies link fluoride with as many as 10,000 cancer deaths per year The results of three studies that appeared in The Journal of the American Medical Association linked hip fractures and fluoridation. Excessive fluoride can damage the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, leading to limited joint mobility, ligament calcification, muscular degeneration and neurological deficits. Fluoride has also been linked to brain damage, genetic mutations, and a whole host of gastro-intestinal problems.
It's a serious poison, and its long-term health effects may never be fully realized.
Agencies will say that that water has a natural source of fluoride and that we drink it everyday, and that of course is true but the fluoride used in toothpaste and the fluoride added to your tap water by the water municipals is artificial with a different chemical composition which has a different effect.
Wake up people. Do research.

Not For Everyone

I am generally a fan of alternative products, but this is outside-the-box toothpaste that will not necessarily suit everyone.
The fibers in this paste are thin and flexible. They do not dissolve as you brush, and a few of them may work their way in between your teeth. Therefore, it is important to floss afterward to remove any rogue fibers.
I am good about flossing, so this is not a problem for me, but I suppose in a corner of my mind I am a little paranoid about whether any small fibers have been left behind.
On a positive note, I love cinnamon. I am rotating this product with some other toothpaste, so it will get used up. However, I will have to think about whether to get another tube.
If you are up for something a little different, this toothpaste is worth trying at least once.
