My advice is to seek knowledge elsewhere, November 16, 2016

Honestly, this book is largely a waste of time and money. I'm not sure why people give it 5 stars simply because it's delivered in a timely manner and is in good condition. This should be a basic service.
Pros: It's a short read. It does discuss some basic business concepts and he does provide a few thought provoking points.
Cons: As a stand alone business book for physicians, I really don't think it says much that relates to this industry. There is certainly little information that you could use on a practical solution basis. He begins referencing a national survey indicating the percentage of doctors that are unsatisfied with the profession and want to make a change, however, the survey isn't even cited. This should have been a hint of what was to come. The book is content heavy in a few areas and what remains is largely fluff. The author is constantly reiterating points from previous chapters, which leads me to believe he must think his readers (physicians) are too slow to get the point the first time. The author likes to use empty slogans to fill up pages and I found elements of his writing style annoying: Big T, little t, Big Q, Big D. Not enough useful information on patients and hardly any information on marketing. These are some points that come to mind as I quickly write this review.
The author's initial book E-Myth Revisited is a much better book than this book and provides much more meat to chew on in terms of the small business framework, concepts, and outcomes. I almost feel this book is simply a marketing document intended to drive people to the author's consulting services where you would get the useful information.

I think Mr. Gerber didn't know what he was talking about in this book. He didn't know what is medicine and how it works. The book is full of unnecessary jargon. Page after page of nothing just waste of time. In spite of the book E-Myth that is a great phenomenal book, this one is just waste of time.

Better off going to your specialties website, April 30, 2016

I am an orthopedic surgeon just entering private practice hoping for some background on the busniess of medicine. I did not find it here. Only vague generalities that loosely apply to medicine and condescension toward physicians as capable and willing involved parties in the ownership and growth of a practice. Im guess he has one book that he just changes for each audience, and transplants text, in this case by adding the word doctor. I read one section of the book (management) and them was able to skim the rest for anything valuable but there wasnt much that I couldnt have gotten opening fortune cookies. There is little here to suggest the author has been to a single business meeting in a specialty private practice. Better off going to your specialties website...
