Primary dentition play a very important role in reserving space for the permanent teeth. It assures proper alignment, spacing, and occlusion of the permanent teeth. Premature loss of primary teeth has devastating effects on permanent dentition.Space management involves constant evaluation of the developing dentition and methods to preserve space for unhindered eruption of succedaneous teeth. Early recognition of deviations from the normal exfoliation and eruption sequence and timely intervention helps to avoid unnecessary orthodontic treatment.
