1.0 out of 5 stars.  Avoid if you can, February 11, 2016
By Jesse R.
The content is typically out of date, and I think the chapters are written in an illogical format. I guess this is one of the better ones on the market, but all my pharmacology professors hate it, but it is recommended by the university. I hate it. I consider it useless. If the professor is any good, they will provide slides with more up to date, logically formatted information. Use this as a last resort. Some sections are great. However, those chapters are few and far between. I think this is a joke. Hopefully one day someone will publish a book that goes (Background--> overview of drug class--> drug specifics) rather than just randomly mentioning drugs here and there in chapters. It's generally awful.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent pharmacology text., January 25, 2016

Excellent textbook. My only difficulty in using is that the explanations are often rather convoluted with a laborious deductive thought process instead of inductive approach.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  All the pages were fine, but there seems to be multiple extensive scratches ..., January 20, 2016
By Joseph
As a second year medical student going through pharmacology, this book is a life-saver. Not only does it go in-depth about the relevant information relating to each drug, but it also correlates it to the clinical use and gives details on how the underlying mechanisms work. The only reason this isn't 5-stars is because the book came poorly packaged and was scuffed in multiple places. All the pages were fine, but there seems to be multiple extensive scratches along the spin of the book.
