After a lifetime of good oral hygiene my gums started to recede

After a lifetime of good oral hygiene my gums started to recede. Especially from around molar crowns. My gums bled terribly and were very sensitive. In Feb. my hygienist told me I would prob need to have a root cleaning. I then purchased TheraBreath and have used it exclusively. Just had another cleaning today and my hygienist was amazed at the difference. She asked what I had been using and I told her Therabreath. She was amazed at how less my gums bled and a definite decrease in gum sensitivity. Needless to say I was very relieved when she didn't mention a root scrapping!!! I definitely recommend this product to anyone suffering from gum problems.

After using this product for quite some time now... I don't think I'll ever switch back to regular toothpaste with fluoride. I ended up trying my regular toothpaste and found that the fluoride content actually burns my gums and irritates my mouth. Since using this product, I've even gotten compliments from my Dentist how much better and healthier my gums were compared to my last visit that had them worried. Will probably never switch back to anything else.

Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate aggravated my gums
|

The toothpaste ended up worsening my irritated gums. I started using it after my gums were already inflamed, likely from overzealous brushing and/or a medication change. I developed a very bright red strip of inflammation along the gum line of some teeth. I finally saw my dentist and he suggested changing my toothpaste for a few weeks. He said some people are sensitive to tartar control ingredients like the Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate contained in this one. It's been a week and sure enough the redness is almost gone. Obviously not everyone will have this problem with this toothpaste, but something to consider if you are having inflammation and have recently changed toothpastes or find things seem to get worse with this one. (As others have noted, the taste is weird, but tolerable; it seemed to work fine as an actual toothpaste.)
