Have looked for this or more specifically the "Amoniated Colgate" for years in the States, but can no longer find it until I found it on
Amazon from India: Got hooked on it while in the Army in the early '60's

I didn't know this was still being made. I used tooth powder in the military Basic Training because it is far easier to keep clean than tooth paste (for inspections) I practically forgot about this stuff until I looked on Amazon.com.....

I bought this tooth powder because I'm careful to keep the weight of my backpack low, and thought that the Colgate tooth powder would be a pleasant improvement on baking soda as a virtually weightless toothpaste substitute. Now that the product has been delivered, I'm sure I'll stick with baking powder or find a different toothpowder. This Colgate toothpowder has such a strongly penetrating mint aroma that I could smell it before I opened the package. Backpackers beware! Bears and other varmints can probably smell this stuff easily, despite enclosure in an Ursack or bear can with OPsack bags. Also, the product arrived in a dented container and is past its expiration date.

Great Tooth Powder

My second order of this tooth powder. I really love this stuff and wish it were sold in the US too. I like the fact it comes in a tin instead of plastic which I am trying not to buy. It does have a plastic lid however.
