I have not noticed any difference in the colour of my teeth. They are just the same. No whitening effect

2.0 out of 5 stars  Scam?
By Book girl on November 26, 2013
I bought this because I thought it had peroxide and baking soda in it. Thus, I thought it would whiten my teeth. Although it is advertised as such, neither of those ingredients are listed in the active ingredients. The only active ingredient is sodium flouride, which is in all toothpastes. And, the front of the dispenser just says "Anticavity fluoride toothpaste" with no mention of whitening or soda (although there is a small Arm and Hammer logo). So, I'm confused about what is actually in this product. It has a vague soda tast and it foams up like peroxide, but why not list those ingredients if they are present? I'm totally confused and suspect a scan.

There are two solutions that supposedly come out of this dispenser, a white paste and a blue gel. But, when you press down on the dispenser, the blue gel squirts out in bulk but the white paste doesn't come out as easily. Instead, it clogs and dries up on its side. So you end up with a lot more blue gel than white paste, and they are supposed to be equally matched. But I don't think it matters because frankly, after using this for several weeks, I can't see that my teeth are any whiter. Also, this dispenser is not any easier or cleaner to use than a regular toothpaste tube. Don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars  Love this stuff!
By R. Jimerson on September 15, 2013
I really like this stuff. The combination of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda seems to do a good job. I was surprised and disappointed when it disappeared off the shelf at Costco and other retailers, but happy to find it available here on Amazon.

Never had a cavity while using this, and the hygienist always has nice things to say when I go in for a cleaning and exam.

4.0 out of 5 stars  Mentadent – an effective toothpaste
By Lisa (Pennsylvania) on May 22, 2013
My teeth feel very clean after using Mentadent. I no longer have trouble with tooth sensitivity.

Blue paste and white paste are dispensed side-by-side. They mix to make an oxygenated toothpaste. It's hard to get the same quantity of each to come out, however, because the white is stiffer.

Mentadent with the dispenser, and refills without it, is no longer sold in stores. Amazon's associate is the only place I can still find it.
