Love Doctor De Soto!, September 21, 2016

Who doesn't love Doctor De Soto? I have loved him since I was a kid. (I was born in 1982.)
Anyway, this is the second of the Doctor De Soto books and is not disappointing. I will not ruin the story, but I will say it is amusing, appropriate for all ages, and of course the pictures are adorable as ever. My 6 year old LOVES these books. There are some large words, so they are not the easiest for beginner readers, but they are still great reads!

On the must have list for anyone trying to teach the elements of story telling or writing. Strong characters, clear problem, solutions, and take away message. Get the other one too!

Great Vocabulary, April 10, 2016

I loved William Steig and the originall Doctor De Soto as a kid. I am a 3rd grade teacher and go this to read to my students and have them compare and contrast to the original Doctor De Soto. Really great vocabulary in this book and the kids were fascinated by it. They also love seeing characters they know from another story in a new book. Would definitely recommend .

My kindergarten grandson absolutely went wild over the first Dr. DeSoto book (and so did we grandparents). It's a great story about a mouse dentist and his large, sometimes dangerous patients. This one is a good book too - we've read it over and over.
