What's that noise outside his window? Is it really a bear with a toothache? Inviting him in, the little boy tries to help the bear in various ways to extract his bad tooth but to no avail. Finally, dressing up as a cowboy and using his rope, an idea works and the little boy is left with the bear's tooth to put under his pillow.
Short and sweet!

My son and daughter really enjoyed this now out of print book when they were young. Cute story about a little boy wanting to help a bear who is in pain. It is a story about resourcefulness, kindness and friendship. Even provides an opportunity to weave in some discussion about dental hygiene. Was glad to find a copy in good condition to share with my grandson. Service and condition were good.

This book arrived in excellent condition. It's one of my favorite read-alouds from my youth that I'm so happy to share with my child- nothing like howling together along with the achy bear.

This was my daughter's favorite book when she was little. Many times we've found ourselves mimicking the bear's plaintive wail, "Ooowwwwwwwwwww" or saying, "then I had a good idea!" at seemingly appropriate times. It became something of an inside joke in our family. Needless to say, we were all very happy to find that it is still available to read to her two young children, who now have their own copy and love it as well. Charming illustrations, with lots of detail to point out to the kids as you're reading.
