Lovely story that eases anxiety, February 09, 2013

After a visit to the dentist, my 6-year old daughter was faced with the reality that cavities are real. Her dentist suggested that I find some books that she could read to help her understand what will happen on her "cavity-filling day". After reading several reviews on different books, the reviews and book description for Cassandra Gets Her Smile Back seemed super appropriate. There were only two reviews but I thought why not chance it. When we received the book it was beautiful. The illustrations are lively and very cute. The paper feels like good quality for a paperback. But most of all, the story is wonderful with language that is clear and relatable for children. My daughter loved the story and continues to read it even after her appointment. I highly recommend this book for not only cavity fixing appointments but it would be great for first appointments as well. Add it to your child's library, it makes a wonderful addition!

This book was very helpful to get my kids prepared for' their dental visits. It showed exactly what to expect at a dental visit while still entertaining my children. MY daughter neeeded a lot of dental work and "Cassandra Gets Her Smile Back" calmed her fears. She insists that I read it to her every night before bed because it was so helpful.

What a great introduction to the dentist! Cassandra Gets Her Smile Back takes children step by step through the process at the dentist's without speaking down to them while calming their fears and empowering them with information. This will really help kids learn the importance of keeping their teeth clean as well as what role the dentist plays. Definitely a book you'll want in your library at home.
