In Teddy Visits the Dentist, the reader experiences a dental appointment with Teddy. He rides in the dental chair, learns about the instruments, and has his teeth cleaned. Then Teddy learns to care of his teeth. Also included in the book is a glossary and two tooth charts. What makes this book extra special is that the author, Elizabeth Mahadeo, has 15 years experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant. She is writing about a topic - in a child like manner - because she knows the subject matter well. My little boys really enjoyed these books and Little Man has specifically asked to read them during his quiet time. They connected with the character and subject matter.

This is a perfect book for teaching a young child the importance of dental care in a easy to read, caring and fun way. My 2.5 year old has demanded to read it every day for the past 2 weeks and believe it or not has shown an inclination to floss now which is more than I can say for his old man. Also, the illustrations are very warm and friendly and is the perfect accompaniment to the story. Highly recommended.

As a dental hygienist with over 15 years experience working in pediatric dentistry, I can say that this book is perfect for preparing your little one for their first dental visit and reminding them how much fun subsequent visits will be!! The procedures and descriptions of what will take place during a cleaning and check-up are very accurate. The book is written in a fun way with great pictures that will get your child excited to visit the dentist! I wish all parents would read a book like this to their child before their dental visit to prepare them and help them look forward to going to the dentist!

It's a wonderful book for showing kids about going for a routine dental visit. The book uses the same language that dental professionals use around young children. It's a great first step to take for any parent wanting to teach their kids that it's fun going to the dentist and dental hygienist.

This a heart-warming book with the adorable character Teddy as he experiences his first visit to the dentist for a check up and cleaning. Youngsters will be able to relate to Teddy's exposure to the many novel things which occur at the dental office. The illustrations have a charming sweetness to them as well! As a practicing dentist, I have placed this book in my reception area for patients to enjoy.

Because it's written in a caring, gentle and fun fashion, Teddy Visits the Dentist is a positive step-by-step journey, explaining in detail what children will experience at their dental appointment. The illustrations are fun and beautifully drawn, and the Glossary is a brilliant touch. This is definitely a "must have" book for parents of young children.
