Real pictures of dental tools, office, chair etc. appropriate for very young child, September 18, 2006

Appropriate for a very young child. Good for preparing a child for his first visit. Real photographs of Nicole and her dad visiting a dental office. A hygenist cleans Nicoles teeth and then the dentist, Dr. Smiles, comes in and looks at Nicole's teeth. Pictures of the hygenist with a mask and gloves, picture of the dental tools with friendly names and child-appropriate descriptions of what they do (the mirror, the tongs, the polishing brush, the vaccum straw, the squirter). It is gental soft upbeat language and Nicole gets an xray. Only two sentences I have changed : the book begins Nicole is nervous -- I read it as Nicole is happy to be getting to go to the dentist. Also, the books says the xray film is in the mouth like a lollipop - which I don't give my son, so I just read it as the xray film rests in the mouth for a moment. Good book - my 2.5 year old loves it.
