5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great book for motivating your kids to brush their teeth, January 19, 2011
By Dr. M. Diercks
I love this book. I am a dentist and I have a 2 1/2 year old, and thoroughly understand how difficult it can be to get your little one(s) to brush their teeth. My son used to let me brush his teeth without any fuss, but that all ended about 9 months ago. He decided one day that he didn't like it anymore and that was it. Since then, brushing his teeth has been a real nightmare with lots of kicking, crying and his creative ways to avoid the toothbrush. Basically I have been holding him down and brushing his teeth against his will which is neither fun nor particularly effective, but it is better than nothing. Thanks to this book though, everything has changed! I got The Sugarbug Hunter a week ago and we read it to him before we brush his teeth. After we read to him, I check his teeth and tell him I see sugarbugs and he insists that I brush his teeth immediately. I was so shocked that I had to take a picture of him getting his teeth brushed. The book is a quick read and the illustrations are apparently very motivating for little kids because he has brought the book to us several times and asked to read it again, and we always follow up by brushing his teeth. Now, brushing his teeth is something we look forward to instead of dreading. I recommend this book to all my patients with little kids, and I wish I had it 9 months ago!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fun book for kids, November 29, 2010
By Dave Millman
This is a great book for the younger set, particularly if you want to discuss tooth brushing in a fun, non-lecturing way. The author understands how to write a fun book that is also educational, and without ever talking down. The illustrations are likely to inspire kids to haul out the crayons and draw some of their own.

Highly recommended.
