This book is really good for preparing a toddler for a first dentist visit, but wish they'd skipped the shot and drill part. Still, it seems to have really helped my daughter get ready for her first visit.

Great sticker book and reading book, June 05, 2011

I bought several of these Usborne sticker books, and my 3 year old loves them. She puts the stickers on each page, finds the hidden duck, and then uses the finished book as a regular reading book. The story is great, as it prepares her for what to expect at the dentist.

Pretty Good Book, March 29, 2011

Bought this book hoping it would prepare my daughter for the dentist. She loves it but in the end, it didn't help. Maybe we should have read it the day of or the day before the appointment. I wish they would have introduced the word "cavity". My daughter also likes to find the little duck hidden in the pages.

Fun read!, September 05, 2010

I bought several children's books about going to the dentist for my newly 3 year old this summer to prepare him for his first dentist trip. I really liked that this book covered all of the basics from the big chair, to rinsing/spitting, to the treat at the end. This book, combined with the others, helped developed the appropriate vocabulary and background knowledge for our first dentist trip! And then, of course, adding the stickers was lots of fun!

helpful for nervous children, February 10, 2010

This book isn't really a 'story'. It's just simply showing a process of kids making an appointment and then going to the dentist. There's no really exciting part or anything, but it would be a good book to show children who get nervous in new situations. Especially kids with autism or other behavior disorders. It gives them each step to the process that they can follow.
