Caused my gums to become inflamed and tender

I have always really liked Arm & Hammer toothpaste but this stuff is really bad. Before buying a tube of this I was using Arm & Hammer Complete Care toothpaste and it done a great job at getting my teeth really clean. This toothpaste does a great job at cleaning too, but it doesn't foam much at all and it has done a real number on my gums! After using it for a few days I noticed that my gums were kind of swollen and that they were unusually dry. The only thing I had changed was my toothpaste so this has to be the culprit. My gums actually started bleeding last night while using it so I will most certainly be trying another toothpaste.

I was using Crest's Vivid White for several months, but decided to try Arm & Hammer Advance White for the first time. This is quite possibly the worst tasting toothpaste I have ever used. It tastes like sweaty gym socks. I actually gagged the first time I used it. It does have a faint minty taste, but it is overpowered by the baking soda. I drink a lot of coffee, so I am using it solely for its whitening claims. The bad taste trumps the whitening power, though, so I probably will not be buying this product again.
