if you have arthritis and are way tired of the pain then read this book. this is a very comprehensive look at all forms of joint pain. it is very well written with many footnotes for further reference and each chapter starts with a relevant quote, very classy presentation. you can run all over looking for answers or let this author do the research for you. i guarantee there's something positive for your situation. i've been stuck with osteo/gout for twenty years and this book has helped me ease that relentless pain.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best book on healing pain ever read, May 15, 2013
By Marie Vivian (USA)
This book is riveting for someone like me, a person who has been in chronic pain for many years. It is easy to read as a layman, has huge insights on what arthritics are going through physically (and emotionally), has tons of research to back it up and this lady knows what she writes! This book has kept me up at night, highlighting, writing on what I should take and is the most beneficial book I've read on how to handle chronic pain. Her chapter on NSAID's is mind blowing. I had no idea how aspirin depletes vitamin-c from the body (and I have studied pain since '08) and she is right on about natural anti-inflammatories. I started taking Cummerin (root of Tumeric) and I have no inflammation in my body, and then I started taking vitamin D, and it has also decreased the bursa sacs in my body. I have a severe spinal cord injury, fibromyalgia and just a messed up spine. This book has changed my life. Thank you Ms. Brown.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  informative, March 08, 2012
By Weir Rising
This book, written by an arthritis sufferer, quickly and succintly lays out myriad ways of addressing joint pain. The most compelling aspect of this book is that the author not only researches the options she discusses, but also tries them herself, and thus is able to give a first-hand account of her personal experience with each remedy.

Clearly written and well organized, this book is also an enjoyable read. My library copy has provided me with so much information that I intend to purchase the book so it will be handy for convenient reference.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Helpful and Interesting, February 25, 2007
By M. Franzmeier
The author is not a medical practitioner, but she does share with the reader her own experiences with the various natural approaches to alleviating joint pain. The book helped me realize I'd have to be responsible for my healing and figure out what works for me and what doesn't. I think it's important to check with the experts regarding medical advice, but I found her information a good source of ideas worth researching further.

My wrist pain was initially misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis (due to a mix up with the blood work), which is why I picked up this book. Although we eventually discovered the mistake the physician had made and I was correctly diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, I still found the information in this book helpful.
