Let's Get Natural With Herbs The Most Complete A - Z Reference Guide to Utilizing Herbs For Health and Beauty by Debra Rayburn
This 676 page herbal reference book was a complete labor of love and for light worker's like myself it will feel like walking into the candy store of life. I learned so much about the properties of different plants, many I have growing right on my property. When I got to the part where Burdock could help with blood purification and hormone balancing, I started having a new respect for the huge bunch growing in my back yard, and even the Chamomile growing in my driveway became more than just a pretty yellow flower.
Something I really enjoyed about this precious find was the way it lovingly took each entry and told me the other species it was related to, it's geographical location, properties, historical uses, even what drugs it may interact with and how to prepare it and the recommended dosages. And if that wasn't wonderful enough, in the back I found an appendix of the herbs listed by their common name and even an appendix for ailments that explained each one talked about in the book.
There is just so much here it will take me a life time to absorb it all, but you can be sure this handy teacher has made it's way to my spiritual tool box and I feel better armed just knowing it is around. I would recommend this spiritual giant to anyone who has any desire at all to learn about herbs and how they can naturally fit into our daily life. Thanks Debra, I was so impressed.
Love & Light,

The Most Comprehensive Book on Herbal Therapy, December 22, 2010
By Camilla

Let's Get Natural With Herbs is the most comprehensive book on herbal therapy I have ever read. Presented in a user-friendly A-to-Z format, this convenient reference guide provides easy to understand methods of herbal preparation. This book shows which herbs and other nutritional supplements can reduce the side effects of prescription drugs or over the counter (OTC) medications, and which ones can potentially enhance their effectiveness. Precautions are also given on which combinations of herbs, drugs, or other nutritional supplements should never be taken together.
Divided into four major sections, Let's Get Natural With Herbs provides guidelines for proper herb identification, general usage precautions, and answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding herbal remedies. It contains easy to understand guidelines for how to use and prepare herbs, a formulary to help you create herbal formulas for over 130 ailments, as well as formulas for maintaining optimum health and beauty. Procedures for determining dosages, equivalent tables to assist in measuring herbs and formulas, and a listing of over 40 of the most popular herbal remedy forms and their preparation methods can be found inside this amazing book. Also included are tips on collecting and drying herbs, the use of plants to make dyes, as well as formulas for pet care, insect repellents, household cleaners, and fragrances.
Let's Get Natural With Herbs presents the profiles of more than 400 herbs organized alphabetically by common name. Each profile provides the herbs Latin name, other names the herb is known by, related species, habitat, active constituents, therapeutic actions, historical uses, cautions, herb/drug interactions, adverse reactions, preparation, and dosage information. It also contains an informative section on bee products, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. A glossary of medical terminology, a general index, a separate botanical index, and two appendices designed for the quick-referencing of the herbs by either their common or Latin names rounds out the book.
Truly a "labor of love" Let's Get Natural With Herbs is an indispensable resource suitable for the professional herbalist or anyone who wants to get started on a healthier lifestyle. This book makes the perfect gift and I'm so happy to have it on the shelf of my personal library. Thank you Debra for writing this wonderful book!

It's o.k., October 31, 2010

I think this book is o.k. although not very practical. At the end of the book there is a section with formulas for curing specific illnesses. I'm sure the formulas are great too bad they don't specify how to prepare them. They just give you the ingredients and that's it. So if you are not an experienced person in this field it is likely that is very hard for you to know how to exactly prepare this formulas. I don't know if they should be made into an infussion, or just blended and if so also no idea exactly how.
