I hope this is the same book I used to have. I thought I still had the book but since I am unable to find it, I'm ordering another one because it is an awesome book. About 15 or so years ago I was suffering from IBS and my doctor was ready to write me a prescription for an ulcer medication. I had just been given the book on Shiatsu so I told him to wait. I used the technique described in the book and never got that prescription filled. I still use it to this day whenever I have problems with acid reflux or similar stomach problems. A little side note... I had skimmed over the section where it described how you should use the pressure points going up your left arm to release the energy after each session, but didn't really pay attention to it. Then one day I was cutting a piece of really thick glass and if you don't know about glass cutting - first you score the glass with a glass cutter then you more or less break the glass along that score. It was a large strange shaped piece of glass that I was working with so I did a couple of extra cuts on it just to practice. The practice cuts went great, nice and clean. When I got to the final cut - the cut that would produce the piece I actually wanted to use - I scored it, then had my left arm across the piece I wanted to use as I tried to break away the rest of it. As soon as I broke it I realized something was not right but it took me several seconds to realize that a piece about 3" long and shaped like an arrow head had broken away and shot straight in to my left wrist. It almost went through my wrist. Luckily, I acted quickly and applied pressure so I didn't bleed hardly at all but I will always wonder if it was because I had not done the pressure release as described in the book. Of course I will not make that mistake again.
