Very Descriptive And Thorough Thai Massage Resource, April 12, 2015

Very thorough, with anatomical terms and charts, also has very descriptive labeled diagrams of all the pressure points of each of the areas being worked on, with very good images of proper positioning and placement of fingers, hands, elbows, knees and/or feet for the particular area being massaged. It also goes into the fundamentals of Yoga massage, stretching, breathing, energy lines, acupressure, herbal compression and balms. I highly recommend this very informative resource.

Remains a Classic Book for Everyone's Library on Traditional Thai Massage, August 24, 2012
By Jaci Fraser

Pierce accumulated his knowledge for this book while doing his dissertation in Thailand so the information is very detailed. However, this makes for a thorough coverage of Traditional Thai massage including the history, preparation for doing Thai massage and fundamentals of the techniques . The details are well laid out and the instructional flow of postures defines it for use as both a reference and teaching text book. Colored pictures and step by step explanations of postures and sequencing fill over 140 pages.
Part 2 goes into Thai energy lines separated into distinct diagrams for the 10 main Sen lines. There is also information on Thai acupressure points, some therapeutic approaches and finally a brief overview of Thai Herbal massage. In summation this book is well indexed, has loads of pictures, diagrams and even information on travel and study in Thailand.
