Product Description:

Endodontic pain is a complex symptom that poses unique challenges for the dentist. This book is a concise, well-structured guide to the assessment and treatment of patients who present with endodontic pain, in which step-by-step descriptions are complemented by informative images and flow charts. The advantages, disadvantages, and significance of specific diagnostic and treatment procedures are clearly described, as is a pharmacotherapeutic approach to the prevention and treatment of pain. In addition, the causes and biological basis of endodontic pain are explained and guidance is provided on further strategies for pain prevention. The crisp narrative, efficient design and visual detail are notable features of this book that will make it an ideal chairside resource for the clinician and a dependable reference for the student.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The text provides very useful and meaningful information, March 03, 2016
By Arthur H. Kubikian
Considering that two thirds of all emergencies deal with endodontic pain this book is a must for all dentists, especially those involved in the daily practice of general dentistry.
The text provides very useful and meaningful information, and practical knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient in pain - all of it based on the most up to date research information available.
Professor Dr. Paul A. Rosenberg, who is the immediate past chairman of the Department of Endodontics and its Postgraduate Program at NYU College of Dentistry, and the author of many articles and chapters in a number of endodontic texts, is to be congratulated for this fine service to the dental profession through this reference textbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Absolutely critical manuscript for Endodontics, August 17, 2015
By Ashley Mark
This book exceeded my expectations. As per the introduction by Dr. Hargreaves, our instruction in endodontic pain "is a patchwork quilt of knowledge that too often is fragmentary, disjointed, and out of date. The present text by Professor Paul Rosenberg directly addresses this problem."

Endodontic Pain is an incredibly easy to read, up to date, comprehensive overview of endodontic pain, diagnosis, causes, prevention, and treatment. An experienced educator and clinician, Dr. Rosenburg understands the needs of both the student and practicing clinician - dividing the text into "stand alone" chapters that can be quickly searched in a moment’s notice. The book serves as a reference and also includes many useful clinical tips which are highlighted on each page. The book is small (9.5" x 6.5"), doesn't weight a ton, and I can keep it nearby on my desk when I encounter a diagnostic puzzle. Don't let its small size deceive you though....it's filled full of evidence based information that is clinically relevant and can change your diagnosis or treatment of choice.

As an aside, Dr. Rosenberg has made several videos with Dentsply Tulsa Dental in which he highlights a mere fragment of the material in his book:
