The second edition of Dental Caries: the Disease and its Clinical Management builds on the success of the prestigious first edition to present an unrivaled resource on cariology. The clinical thrust of the first edition is widened and strengthened to include coverage of the disease in all its variety, from eruption of the first primary tooth to the prevalent forms of the disease in older patients. The centrality of caries control and management to the dental health of all populations is further emphasized, as the book goes beyond the successful treatment of carious lesions to demonstrate the long-term consequences of the non-operative and therapeutic techniques employed. Author Information Ole Fejerskov is former professor of Cariology and Restorative Dentistry at Aarhus University and former head of the Danish National Research Foundation. He is Professor at the Institute of Biomedicine at Aarhus University, Denmark. Edwina Kidd is Professor Emerita of Dental Cariology at King's College London Dental Institute.

very comprehensive collection of various aspects of dental caries, October 22, 2015

This tome is an impressive discussion of all aspects of dental caries. Unfortunately it does not discuss silver nitrate as a possible option in management. Still, anyone seriously interested in the academic aspects of "cavities" should try to have access to the data. Thanks to Ole Fejerskov!

Dental caries The disease and Its Clinical Management, July 15, 2009

From another point of view, we can look this book as one part of the film "Lord of Rings"? It has three episodes. If we are interested in endodontics, we will like this book very much. This book is the first part of "Lord of the Rings". Moreover, there are many interesting topics that we always meet each day such as the definition of carious leison and radiographic examination. What is the difference between the book and yours?

This is an excellent book. It will make you re-think or confirm your diagnosing skills and become a more confident clinician. A good review for the seasoned dentist and great information for the new dental student. It has great color illustrations and is well organized. This should be a part of every dental schools restorative course.
