Olympus E-5 camera is true quality, September 27, 2015

The E-5 with it's indestructible body, weather sealed body built for it's weather sealed four thirds Zuiko lenses, it's on board image stabilization, it's articulating screen display, and it's professional quality is a fantastic camera. Too bad Olympus chose to abandon the E system platform. They had a winner.in the E series bodies. Hopefully they won't eventually leave their dedicated customers holding expensive quality glass lenses with no body to attach them to. Their OMDEM1 will accommodate the four thirds lenses with an adapter but whether their next high end camera will do the same is anybodies guess. We keep waiting to hear whether or not Olympus intends to support our expensive four thirds lenses in the future.

There is no package box, the manual is very old and dilapidated. The shutter release count is 8388, it's an used item!

Better hurry if you want one!!, December 05, 2014

This is a wonderful piece of equipment. Built like a tank and sealed against the environment. Unfortunately, Olympus appears to have abandoned the E-System DSLR user in favor of their new OMD series. I bought this camera as an "insurance" body. I have a considerable investment in E-System lenses and equipment and realized that if my E-5 body was ever damaged or stolen, I'd be out of luck. Hence, this second E-5 body. By the way, I couldn't find a U.S. dealer that still had the E-5 so had to buy from a Japan dealer at a slightly higher price. The dealer was great. I actually received the camera in about half the time it typically takes for delivery from a U.S. dealer. (4 days!)
