I bought this for my brother. looked at it first, then decided to keep it and send a second one to him. What's refreshingly unique about this book is the illustrations of the meridians and acupuncture points. Most books have "flat-line" one-dimensional drawings. This one has the lines drawn on full dimensional live bodies fully developed with musculature etc. so you can get a MUCH better idea of where the points really are.

 Exact Reprint of the first printing, Circa 1990's, August 31, 2015

This reprint of the earlier version, circa 1990, if exactly the same. It is a reprint. The only thing that has been updated is the forward. If you have the older printing, no use in getting this one. If you don't have the earlier printing, get either one, The are really good. They have helped me over the years, and still do to relieve stress and tension.

I ordered this book along with another one and apparently enjoyed both of them. The textbook is very practical, very well organized, hands-on with pictures, graphs etc. It is completely suitable for an amateur or professional, basically anyone who wants to learn Shiatsu. After studying it I feel like I can do it on myself or any family member. Very helpful. Highly recommend it.

I like the pictures and explanations. Still, learning it hands on is completely different than look at the pictures! :) But the pictures remind you quickly to remember things you forget during practices!
