I use this unit for cleaning fountain pen parts when I restore older pens(mainly nibs). It does a good job and is small, easy to use and clean. I also have a much larger unit I bought from Freight Harbor for cleaning larger items since it is about four times this size.

Trips the GFI when pressing ON.
Two different CD-2800 both failed, on THREE different GFI ckts.
Both units do work on non-GFI protected ckts.

Didn't receive brand of item purchased, October 03, 2012

I have a Sharpertek CD-2800 jewelry cleaner that a friend admired and wanted. For her birthday I decided to buy one for her so I did a search online to find who had the best price for this model. Amazon was the site that came up and I made the purchase. However to my embarrasment, the Sharpertek model was not the item that arrive, but an similar looking item from some Brand X company. It was too late for me to send back so much to my dismay, I had to give it to her. So far the item is working but I was not pleased at all that the brand of the item was switched from what I thought I bought.
