3.0 out of 5 stars  Solid cleaner at a price that begs more durability.
By DB on January 06, 2016
Have purchased four of these over the years. Use is fairly heavy sometimes for days on end. Well cared for and cleaned. Power provided to unit is excellent and it is kept in a dry area. We failed one unit in that the heater element was left on, the fluid evaporated and the unit failed. Our fault and not considered as a Crest failure nor is it factored into the review below.

Pros
Nice tank drain.
Excellent quality tank.
Excellent quality exterior.
Relatively quiet operation.
Solid cleaning ability.

Cons
Durability. The units we have owned failed after about 2.2 years on average. Right after warranty ends.
The lid stains.
Lid handle becomes hot.
The lid does not provide for runoff. It can easily pour very hot condensation onto nearby surfaces or people.
The handle insulating material used on the drop in seive-container fall off within weeks. (Silicone tape works well here...)
Heating is slow.
It has no heater protection for a dry tank. Leave the heater on too long and the fluid will evaporate and cause damage. We use a timed outlet to prevent this issue. If you do not do this you will eventually forget and fail the unit.

We have failed our third unit in roughly seven years. We are considering the Elmasonic SH240EL (Tovatech) or an Omegasonic QUANTUM 7950TT as possible alternatives.
