5.0 out of 5 stars.  Stellar, Effortlessly & Quickly Eats Everything, But Not Silent, July 15, 2014

This is a stellar large shredder that eats everything you can fit into the opening faster than you can shove more in. Whether it is 1 page or a stack, it sounds effortless while other shredders whine and slow. It shreds faster than I can pick up and fit another stack into the opening. The opening is actually a great design. It can take nearly anything you can fit in, but it will show you green/yellow/red indicators as feedback about the load before it automatically stops and reverses if too much. But it takes real effort to overload it because it is hard to fit more than it can handle without carefully aligning and inserting a thicker stack. I love being able to throw unopened envelopes into it. I really like the auto on/off energy efficiency so that I never have to turn it on or off again, it is always ready, wakes up instantly, and goes to sleep on its own. It is narrow so it fits more snugly too. It holds a good amount before you have to compress it or empty it. It comes with oil and bags (just oil it every time you empty it).

Minor Drawbacks: (1) It is noisier than implied by the description "ultra-quiet". I really thought it would be very quiet. It isn't silent. Someone in the next room can definitely hear it is running, especially on wood floors. Compared to my previous small shredder, it sounds similar, or slightly better due to no stressing sounds. But I might not shred while someone is on the phone in the room out of politeness. (2) You can't fit many envelopes width-wise if you want to avoid fractional readable text appearing on the shreds, but you can just pull out the contents and drop them together. (3) It does mound up inside under the opening like any shredder, but its size gives it a lot of room before it reaches the top. (4) I went through 3 damaged units before settling on my 4th.

The first 3 units I received all had cracks in the plastic molding, one dented in on the back near the rear handle and power port. I recommend opening from the bottom and sliding off the box in a way that it would be easy to piece back together to ship back if you find a problem. Amazon was superb, quickly sending 3 in sequence until temporarily pulling the item to inspect inventory, finding no problem, and a week or two later called to send me my 4th. My 4th actually had a loose plastic screw that doesn't seem to belong to anything. But it works great, so I'm happy with it. Just inspect and exchange within the return period if you have a problem like mine. I am still happy I bought mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  and the buttons are super sensitive. You "touch" on/off vs "press" it down, July 11, 2014
By TatiannaJ
We have this machine at work. We run a rather busy corporate office, and this machine is next to our HR dept (lots of daily shredding, since we scan everything that comes in or goes out).

We haven't seen it overheat yet, and the buttons are super sensitive. You "touch" on/off vs "press" it down. That's a good feature.

Good stuff:
- Practically jam free
- When you insert too much, it wont shred, which helps with the jam-free feature
- If your hand gets too close, it will shut down. Good safety feature
- Shreds fast and is rather quiet
- Good size bin that does NOT require proprietary bags; any old bag will do
- Super light with wheels, can be moved with a single hand, no problem
- Cross cut means you can fit more into the bag, and good for shredding sensitive info

Bad stuff:
- It can't take 20 pages... at 12-15, it shows the red meter and wont shred
- You have to "force feed" the pages down. If you just set the pages, it wont pull them like most other shredders. You have to push them down a bit, and then it pulls, but just be careful not to do it from the sides, or you'll get a papercut. Once it grabs them, it pulls them down fast.
- Bin is made of cardboard. Very sturdy and strong, but I question the durability.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Its like a "Wood Chipper" for paper!, July 05, 2014
By Bryan K.
This shredder should be labeled as a "wood chipper" because it eats 18 pages at a time like its nothing. The paper bin underneath is a great size and all the features of this shredder are worth it. (like safe sense and the sleep mode) I purchased this shredder for home because I am tired of replacing the cheap ones every year because they wear out. (maybe I just do not have luck with them) This shredder is a beast and definitely worth the extra money. Definitely do not shred anything you don't want or need because there's no way you will ever get it back with this thing!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  BEST SHREDDER EVER., July 04, 2014
By AmazonBuya
For a good 5 years of my life i've been using those $20 cheap shredders that break after couple weeks of usage. The cheap ones can shred 20 papers and then stops because of heating issues, which is such a headache to deal with. After doing tons of research on whether investing in an expensive shredder was worth it, i decided to give it a go and buy this one. Boy, was I impressed. This thing shreds hundreds of paper at a time like a beast. Deff worth the price. If you want to save yourself the stress of having to deal with crappy shredders that don't do the job, this is the one for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice midsize shredder, June 17, 2014
By Nancy Oswald
This shredder is quiet and effective. Shredding compact disks is easy and quick. The meter showing the level of material you are shredding is helpful to make sure you don't shred too much and if it does "jam", it reverses and clears the jam by itself.
