1.0 out of 5 stars.  Not worth your time, March 18, 2006
By Mohammed A. Husain (Chatsworth, CA)
If you are serious about the DAT and are shooting for a very competitive score (20+), I wouldnt waste my time with these cds. They are way too basic. When it comes to DAT prep materials, Kaplan seems to have the monopoly, and I havent encountered much that can really compare.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Do not order from audiolearn directly, July 31, 2004
By Ryan (Tennessee)
I haven't received the DAT CDs yet so I cannot rate the actual product. I am giving audiolearn one star because they failed to ship my order as promised. Save yourself the trouble of ordering directly from their website. I paid extra money to have the CDs shipped overnight and I haven't seen them yet. It has been three days since I placed my order.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  expensive but worth it, September 12, 2002
By Matthew Gould (Winnipeg, MB Canada)
Don't expect to learn all the science you need from these tapes. However, they are useful. I listen to them in the car on my way to and from work. Then when I see the material in a textbook I already know about the topic and it makes it much easier to learn and remember.

The cost is high for what you get, but I couldn't find any substitutes and it is worth what you pay for it. I would buy it again and recommend it. Good luck on the DAT.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Review for the DAT, probably the best there is...., June 12, 2002
By A customer
Very thorough review of the science questions covered on the DAT. I listened to it a couple of times and was able to recall a lot of information when I took the test. Don't use this as your only source of review, but definitely get it and listen to it a few times. One bad thing is that they don't have it on CD's yet. Hope this review helps all future dentists. good luck...

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Over rated in my opinion, May 25, 2002
By Tom Jones (California)
I felt a little deceived by what this product claims and after listening to the tapes, I was right. I feel it is not a "comprehensive" review of the sciences at all. Only a brief overview. It does not cover "every fact, formula,..." etc. like they say. I should have guessed this when I only got 4 audio tapes that are suppose to cover 3 major college courses. Too good to be true I guess.

Specifically, I noticed that some of the organic chemistry topics on the audio tapes are NOT actually on the DAT (probably because they used the MCAT audio tapes for the DAT, they are different TESTS!) I wasted my time listening and taking notes at times. When I matched up my notes from these tapes to the actual DAT topics, I didn't need these, and could have spent more time on actual DAT topics.

Secondly, I ended up referring to my text books a lot. Sure, audio tapes are ok, like a lecture, but I gained the most from studying (by DAT topic) my nice color text books and actually DOING chemistry and organic chemistry questions. The audio tapes were not that helpful here.

Bottom line, for me, the best review and study material for the DAT was 1) my college text books, 2) the list of topics provided by the ADA in the Test Application packet and 3)lots of sample DATs including PAT tests in the computer format.

Focusing on these 3 things got me a 22 average after about 2 months of evenings and weekend studying.
