Product Description:

Updated and supplemented with a brand-new CD-ROM, this manual prepares dental school applicants across the United States and Canada to pass the required admissions test. The book opens with an overview of the DAT that includes test-taking advice, followed by a description of dental education and the practice of dentistry.

A review of all DAT test topics is presented. They include general surveys of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry, as well as testing for perceptual ability, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning. Two full-length model DATs complete this manual and come with all questions answered and explained. The DAT is a computerized test, and this book’s bonus CD-ROM presents two additional model DATs that simulate actual test-taking conditions. They come with automatic scoring.

Very thorough and well written. The layout is easy to follow and made studying for the DAT a little more enjoyable:). Highly recommend to any other Pre-Dental students out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This book is awesome for a review of all sections, March 10, 2015
By Chelsie Foster
This book is awesome for a review of all sections. If you just read through it once, you a great solid foundation for studying. I love that it had two exams with explanations for each answer. I would recommend as one of the books to have for DAT!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  More errors than Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors", December 07, 2014
By Alan Dong
I found more than five errors in one math section alone.

An example problem:

"A bag contains 7 blues marbles and 3 green marbles. If you take out two marbles without replacement, what is the probability that both are red?"

Spoilers: 0 is not an answer choice.

This is just one example of the lack of care, effort, and/or sanity on the part of the authors/editors/publishers.

In other problems, the book will mix up x and y, print incorrect numbers (1/2 instead of 7/2), and introduce completely random typos in notation (y followed by a degree symbol... what does it mean???).

Even more appalling is the fact that this is the second edition of the book.

If you are looking for a book to help you review for the DAT, I highly recommend NOT buying this one, especially if you plan on studying for the math section.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  This book makes my heart ache., July 02, 2014
By Jay Gatsby
I'm studying out of this book at the very moment. This book stressed me out so much that I am now coming to amazon just to warn you not to buy this book. The practice tests have so many errors. THEY GET FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS WRONG OVER AND OVER. Things like periodic trends are ruined to the point of making me cringe. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK. The wrong explanations will stress you out and make you question your sanity.
