Mosby's Dental Drug Reference 2005 is an up-to-date drug resource designed to be used chair side in the dental office. The user-friendly design provides easy access to essential information on over 1,600 of the most commonly prescribed drug products, including the top 200 prescription drugs in the United States. An easy-to-use cross index is the key to using this book for both brand and generic name identification. A second index, based on a therapeutic and pharmacologic classification, can also be used to quickly locate drug monographs. The 2005 edition contains a 20-page insert at the back of the book, entitled New Drug Updates, with information on new drugs that have recently received FDA approval. This reference book easily fits in the pocket of a clinic coat and the soft cover design reduces bulk and weight, making it ideal for use in any dental office. CD-ROM bound in the back of each book contains 30 full-color images of pathologic conditions that may result from drugs patients are taking. Each drug is cross-referenced to the page in the book where the drug is discussed. The CD also contains over 950 patient education sheets (customizable to include specific practice information). Too many common drugs missing, April 09, 2010

I am very unhappy with this purchase because many common drugs were not listed even when they were in the index. I turned to the page from the index but no drug was found, only as a side effect of another drug. It also doesn't list many of the supplements that people use. I would not recommend this book for this reason.

Almost Perfect, January 18, 2007

An almost perfect book. It lacks a few of the newer drugs, but honestly I don't know how any book could keep up. I like the layout of each drug and especially the part of special dental considerations. I've had the book for a few months and I've only had a couple drugs that were difficult to find due to the generic/brand name discrepencies. It's easy and quick to access.
The one area I would like to see improved is another index categorizing drugs by groups, such as Benzodiazepenes, CCBs, anesthetics, etc. and what general characteristics and precautions each group presents. I think that would make this book perfect in my mind.

Easy!, June 02, 2000

This drug reference is layed out in a simple easy to use pattern. Every office should acquire this book. We just check the index, get the page number, flip to the appropiate page and wham! everything we need is right there. I especially like how the dental considerations are listed seperately. And it's a lot easier to manage than the huge PDR. It makes life much easier!
