Very useful book from diagnosis through survivorship for patients and caregivers, November 30, -0001

Laura Haddad's book is well written and universal as well as personal to her own cancer "road trip." Despite the serious subject, her sense of humor is evident. This is a great book to give someone recently diagnosed with cancer, full of useful information for this unanticipated journey. The book also deals with survivorship issues for those going through treatment and its aftermath. Highly recommended for caregivers as well as cancer survivors.

A MUST READ, November 30, -0001

Saying "I love it" as a condition of giving this amazing read 5 stars is a bit of a stretch as the book deals with the very serious subject of cancer which is hard "to love." That being said, this is a thoughtfully and straight from the heart accounting of the author's "roadtrip" through "cancerland" (her words). I read the book in two sittings and I do not nor have I ever had cancer. It is that compelling of a read for anyone but obviously for anyone with cancer or anyone who has a friend or family member with cancer. The book is chock full of great resources and insights into living through cancer by assuring one seeks the best care out there. The author also has quite a sense of humor when tackling the various issues related to diagnosis and treatment options as well as how to be present for her family and friends. I immediately bought and gifted the book to a dear friend just recently diagnosed and awaiting a mastectomy this coming month. The book is laid out in a way where any cancer patient can easily pick and choose those subjects germane to their individual circumstances. I highly recommend this book.
