4.0 out of 5 stars.  Lean and concise, October 01, 2017
By sanoe.net
When I first selected this book, I thought it would be like other Kaplan books in that it would be exam-practice intensive. That just goes to show that I should pay more attention to the book title because the book title clearly says "LECTURE NOTES". I'm putting that at the beginning of the review because there may be another like me who may not gloss over that part and one shouldn't because it is exactly as described. There is an exam overview at the beginning, but this book is focused on information content. It is broken down in a way to help study information for the exam but it isn't a practice exam book. I have a few minor quibbles that kept me from giving it a 5-star but it is still a very good resource for study. It is lean and concise and affordable.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Another top notch Kaplan Exam notes book, great for students, as well as on its own, for the ever-curious!, September 19, 2017
By Hans Castorp
This is another in the large group of medical test prep books by Kaplan. We have one young family member interested in the medical field, but not really sure exactly what area. So we've been getting several prep type books like this, and I make an effort to help her evaluate the subject for possible future career, not to mention family bonding, and I am always interested in health issues that affect all of us. So, we finally managed to work through this book, and agree that in presentation and content, it must be top of the line. Even though it's for advanced 3-4 year students, we still got a lot out of it, not to mention we understand dental visits and dental work a lot better. Among the contents and chapters covered in depth are: Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Oral Diagnosis, Orthodontics ( a subject many of us have learned about by experience), Patient Management, Prosthodontics, among others. There are great illustrations all over, giving some relief from a sometimes very advanced text. And a nice wrap up as well. Only time will tell if our daughter decides to enter this specific field, but knowledge like this is always interesting and useful, not to mention my own self-learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Well Structured, Information Clear Presented, Infinitely Helpful!, August 02, 2017
By Dr. E
This study guide is broken into clear, easy-to-process chapters including: endodontics, operative dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, etc. Each chapter follows a logical progression and offers sharp illustrations, graphs and charts only as needed. This is not a guide trying to impress the buyer with bulk by filling the text with needless photos and charts. Instead, everything here is absolutely necessarily. Kaplan respects its buyers and gives them exactly what they need to be successful.

Important terminology and concepts are bolded for the reader. Likewise, crucial information is easily located in small "key concepts" boxes. Everything here is infinitely reader-friendly.

The guide concludes with sample cases.

Buy this for that boost of confidence. Review it, stress any areas that require a little extra polish (this guide is ideal for that).

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Gets to the point without filler or fluff, July 10, 2017
By AnAmazonCustomer
Good review guide but notice, this is for lecture note format only (ie Part II). Kaplan is a leader in test prep materials and this is no exception. As a college instructor, I review a HUGE number of study materials each year and keep a current batch available for use. This is a solid overview, clear and concise. Gets to the point without filler or fluff.
