Mouthfeel

The process to make the mold was very easy. However, I don't really enjoy the way this product functions. It takes up your ENTIRE mouth to the point that talking (should you have anyone you sleep next to...) is literally impossible. It was so gummy that I think I was more compelled to bite down on it. This is the first "OTC" mouthguard I've tried--perhaps it is just not the right kind for me.

Fixed my underbite that was causing TMJ

I was having TMJ caused by an underbite and this is the only product I found that helps with that because it comes as one piece instead of an upper and a lower. The rest of the mouth guards work to cushion from grinding and clenching, which I don't do. This product is all one piece, so after I did the impression and molded it to my teeth and the bite I wanted, my lower jaw can't slip back into the underbite during the night. I'm not sure if it's muscle memory but during the daytime when I'm not wearing the mouth guard, my jaw remembers that same placement and I don't have an underbite anymore... and no more clicking, popping, and locking jaw.

First understand your jaw "mechanics"

My tmj trouble came not from grinding but from jutting out my lower jaw as a subconscious reaction to other unrelated pain. I have an over-bite so trimmed off the front edge of the upper portion with sharp scissors while cold, then did the heating procedure. It works pretty well preventing my lower jaw from trying to push forward. The "bulkiness" others mention is part of how it works, so the jaws have nowhere to go. Nothing like this is going to actually be pleasant to wear, it falls out sometime during the night, but it costs a lot less than what my dentist had proposed, and has helped me to relax my lower jaw at least some of the time.

Too big
|
|

I purchased this mouth guard in the hopes that I could use it to protect my teeth at night. I've used mouth guards in various styles and shapes before, and similar to this one, so I didn't read in too much to the reviews that said it was too big for them since there were also people saying the opposite.
Simply, it was way too big to fit comfortably in my mouth when molding it and I couldn't align it properly in my mouth. I tried to redo it with the same result. I thought it was a dud of a purchase, but the worst part was that I got a terrible pain in my TM joint that has lasted me for several days, and that's only from trying to fit it to my teeth. I have never experienced this sort of pain from my teeth grinding, or from wearing mouth guards, so beware trying this product if you have joint pain that is noticeable as it is. I know that in the instructions say "If you have any oral disorders such as Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ..) ..(which technically is not a disorder but the name of the joint you would have pain in) would seems like a contradiction to what the BioGrind is for. I did not have a pronounced TMJ pain so I thought it would not be a problem for me to use.
I would only recommend this product to someone with a very straight and wide bite, and a larger mouth to be able to fit BioGrind.
5 stars for Amazon and Snore-EX return policy.

Lifesaver for married snorers

Not joking, these save my vacations! Usually my wife and I have a wall between us when we sleep (love eachother wry much, so much to admit that I snore and she's a light sleeper) but on vacation we don't have such luxury! These mouth guards help me to sleep quietly and once molded to my mouth are fairly comfortable (after prolonged use my teeth start to ache in the mornings) but we can go to the beach again!
