This is a decent introductory book into implant placement. It has thorough, step-by-step black and white drawings of implant placement. The surgical protocol is actually a bit more thorough than what we use, so it may scare a beginner into thinking that the osteotomy sequence is more difficult that it has to be.
I gave this book only three stars for two reasons. One slight downside is that the majority of the cases are presented with drawings, not photographs. However, the drawings are well done, have clear indications of where incisions should be made, and show every step in detail, so that wasn't a big deal. The main reason for giving the book an 'average' rating is that Buser's other book, "20 Years of Guided Bone Regeneration," isn't much more expensive and has more cases, (much) more thorough accompanying text, and excellent photographs. The main advantage this book has over "20 Years of GBR" is that this book has more thorough implant osteotomy sequence steps--but frankly that's the easy part, so if you have any implant experience whatsoever you'll learn more from the other text.
