I bought these for my son because his braces wire kept jabbing him in the jaw after adjustment. He was always complaining and it was making his mouth very irritated. I found these and they work perfectly. Easy to use also. Just put them up against the back of the brace and snip. The pliers hold the tiny piece that gets cut so no worry of it getting in your mouth or swallowing it.
