If you were to look up the word "mean" in the dictionary, you may in fact find Morgan Montgomery's picture right beside the definition...and the picture would be fabulous. That is exactly the reason Olivia does not want Morgan knowing that she just got braces. Unfortunately, Morgan does find out and much name calling and "Morgan meanness" follows. When a science lab experiment goes wrong, Morgan finds herself in the unusual position of being on the wrong side of popularity, which causes Olivia to discover just how complicated friendships and mean girls can be.

Lighthearted and Endearing for Girls About to Get Braces!, August 05, 2014

This second novella/story about Olivia shares the same fun and lighthearted voice of Olivia West vs Middle School- Round One Spunky but adorable Olivia gets braces...the dreaded not being able to eat all the naughty stuff that all teens want. The author shares the inside feelings of a teen girl thinking of her friends, classmates, and her boyfriend's view of her "new" face. She deftly describes how Olivia learns to embrace her own beauty in a young and personalized way. Floyd endearingly captures the feelings of young adults as they journey into growing up with the "hardships" like braces and glasses and fitting in with peers at school. Great buy for anyone who has a teen about to get braces-it encourages and makes light of how beauty comes with growing up and being yourself.
