5.0 out of 5 stars.  charming fairy tale about dental care, April 15, 2013
By Garret Books
This wonderful book is about fairies who collect baby teeth to make them into celestial stars. But only healthy teeth can become stars; the fairies can't make stars from teeth with holes or black spots.
When the fairies find a growing number of unuseable teeth, they send the fairy Vesta to Earth to find out the problem. She discovers that Earth children are eating foods that are bad for their teeth. Sugar feeds the bad-mannered germs, called "plaque" (meaning "yucky") in the fairy language, which hide in the children's mouths and make caves in children's teeth to live in.
Since the fairies polish their stars with little brushes, Vesta comes up with a plan to recruit "star savers" (i.e., dentists) to help teach children to use little tooth brushes to get rid of the nasty germs and keep their baby teeth healthy and beautiful.
What a charming way to teach children to avoid sugary foods and brush their teeth! They can look up at the stars and know what the tooth fairy has done with their baby teeth.
