1.0 out of 5 stars.  Save your money and time, what a mistake!, June 13, 2004

A negative star is more in order here, its a shame I have to give it even one star! As to why we purchased this book, We were having some trouble getting our eldest son to brush his teeth... he responds very well to books and so we went onto Amazon to find some books to read to him on tooth brushing in order to motivate him. After reading the description of the book and why it was put into print (the success the story teller had), we purchased the book... after waiting several weeks, the book final arrived. From the start we were not impressed with the illustrations, which hover on the level of a middle school students attempt at art, but we bought the book for the story not the illustrations... Well as we read the story, if you would call it that, we felt beguiled and ripped off. This book plays on a parents concern about their childs teeth to sell books. The tale itself, about a squirrel visiting friends and the names of teeth in ones mouth, had little to do with motivation or proper tooth brushing technique. This book is not for children under three and over three the quality of the story and illustration will leave a child asking why the torture? I am just amazed that something like this made it to print and that Amazon sells it.
