The author DR Garth Pettit believes that oral health excellence requires an oral health education. Furthermore, he believes that children’s parents, carers and school teachers, not dental professionals, are best placed to teach young children what they need to know about oral health and oral disease prevention. Oral health is a subject no different from and equal in importance to any other school subject that children are instructed in.
