Product Description:
"This text is important for dental hygiene students to learn what they need to know about oral pathology for clinical practice, and for dental hygiene practitioners to utilize as a reference." --Journal of Dental Hygiene, review of last edition Clear and concise, this new 2nd Edition of Ibsen & Phelan's popular text guides readers through the oral pathology knowledge essential to today's dental hygienist. Both authors are well known and highly respected in the field. Their broad experience as instructors has enabled them to produce a readily comprehensible introduction to oral pathology that is precisely tailored to the needs of dental hygienists. Features: * Presents over 440 superb illustrations that depict the clinical and radiographic appearance of a wide range of oral conditions. 96 full-colour plates--twice as many as appeared in the first edition--mean that this book also serves as a colour atlas of oral pathology! * Provides more review questions at the end of each chapter, giving readers an enhanced opportunity to evaluate their comprehension. * Contains a new chapter on Temporomandibular Disorders and Dental Implants that helps readers to more actively participate in diagnosis and treatment planning. Offers an expanded vocabulary list, bringing readers up to speed on all the oral pathology terms they might encounter in practice. * Features fully updated references to facilitate research. * Also available: a superb companion slide set that enhances classroom exploration of oral pathology.

I've been in the field for 30 years and I still get this book in newer editions every so often. It's a must-have reference for anyone in the dental field.
