Product Description:

Clinical Approaches to Oral Mucosal Disorders Part II continues the theme of the oral cavity as a functional unit of the whole and as a window to overall health. As in Part I of this series, the articles in this volume are written by internationally renowned scholars, clinicians, and researchers and provide up-to-date information regarding numerous acute and chronic oral mucosal diseases, which are frequently encountered in clinical practice. New insights are provided into several of the most common oral mucosal disorders, such as herpes infections, aphthous stomatitis, and lichen planus/lichenoid mucositis. Oral cancer and thye complications of cancer therapies, including chemo-therapy and radiation-induced mucositis, graft-versus-host disease, and antiresorptive drug-related osteonecrosis of the jaws, are fully explored in this collection. A comprehensive analysis of human papilloma virus in oral disease as well as perioral skin lesions are contained in this issue. Finally, a concise review of pediatric oral soft lesions provides information for evaluation and management of common oral mucosal disorders in this patient population.

Collectively, Clinical Approaches to Oral Mucosal Disordewrs Parts I and II represent the most current and clinically relevant information regarding a wide variety of conditions affecting the oral cavity and perioral structures. We anticipate these works will provide oral health care providers with indispensable information that will improve the quality of patient care for many years to come.
