TOP FLIGHT, January 16, 2007

Excellent value for price. This is my second.after losing the first that was still going strong after a year and a half.Is good for being seen in city driving but insufficiently bright for riding in near darkness. Very light, secure and easy mounting (and removal) but would think rubber strap would eventually wear out.

works ok, November 15, 2006
By J. Fannon

This light is nice because it is small and light weight. It gives off enough light to get you noticed by other cars on the road. It's not intended to light your path.
What I don't like about this light is the strap. It is somewhat difficult to attach to your bike. If it isn't on just right, the light will fall off and there is no alternate way to attach it.

Great light, September 18, 2006

This light is very cool. It is small and compact. The 3 leds give off good light. Don't count on it to light up the road but it will certainly keep you safe and get you home.

Great for safety, but not for lighting your path, June 27, 2007
By Gr8Stogie (St. Louis, MO)

I've had my headlight for a short period, but I'm happy with it. I ride at dawn, so I needed something that would get the attention of motorists. This does the job and it is lightweight and easy to install/uninstall.
Pros:
Bright for the size
Small and Lightweight
Rated 60 hr battery life
Easy to take on and off handlebars
Blinking feature if you need it
Cons:
I would say that it is too dim for night riding, but that really isn't its purpose. If you are going to ride at night buy a larger flood type light.
The longer rubber strap is difficult to install at first and will likely stretch out and/or break with use.

ok light, fell apart in one week, November 8, 2007
By viking wannabe

I'm not an intense cyclist- commuter bicyclist. The light worked well, but after one week of use, the guts flew out of the case when I hit a not so big bump on a paved street. I was able to find only one battery the next morning, so can't verify quality of design, but it should have been able to resist a relatively minor jolt without falling apart.

Bike Light, October 10, 2007
By A. J. Kahler (Louisville, KY)

I bought this light after trying our several different lights for my bike. This one is very compact and doesn't take up much room, it's easy to put on and take off and works well as a headlight or as a flasher. Battery life is great , esp compared to the halogen lights that take C cell batteries. The only drawback is that the on/off button is very hard to press...maybe the one I got is the exception, I would still buy another one.

Be seen but don't see, January 4, 2010
By Chris (Washington, DC)

Quick and dirty..The light has two modes, steady and blinking (at even intervals)
Brightness: You will not see much, if anything, with this light. It is brighter in front of you as you ride with the full moon than using this light. Its main purpose is for others to see you, especially in the blink mode.
Design: Very small and easy to attach (something like attaching a watch strap to your handlebar). I never had problems with it falling off or twisting down on me. Make sure you attach it tightly. I ride in all sorts of weather (above and below freezing, rain, snow, sun), mostly on flatter suburban terrain but I do hop a lot of curves. The light is about 1.5 inches long and less than 1 inch in circumference.
Other: Sometimes the on/off button is hard to click (you have to hit the spot right). Don't even bother with gloves on. Batteries are easy to replace (just unscrew the head). It's weatherproof thus far - 1.5 yrs (I leave my bike at train station every day, and on my balcony at night, with light always attached). I only replaced batteries once, about 4 months ago, and that was only because I left it on for the whole day at the train station 2-3 times.
If your goal is strictly to be seen, this is one of the best bangs for the buck. If you want to see in front of you on dark trails/alleys, I suggest at least a 1-watt LED headlight.

Great for city safety, but one flaw..., December 2, 2009
By Agent Man (NYC)

A handy light that's easy to snap on/snap off. In my theft-prone city, I like being able to slip this in a pocket when I lock up. The light is bright and when blinking is unmissable, so for safety it's great. For headlight illumination...no. The only drawback for me is the rubber strap, which too easily detaches. You can't get that part separately so if you lose it you must replace the unit. But hey, it's cheap. I like it.

This Light is a Bomb, September 12, 2009
By Pugs Dad (Roseville, CA)

I mean that literally. I live in an older part of town, some of the streets are pretty rough, uneven, bumpy, potholes, etc.. First day I used this light I ran over a rough patch in the road and the light just blew apart. There was a lot of traffic so I didn't stop to try to gather all the pieces. In praise of Amazon I returned the parts I had left and Amazon refunded my money. Do yourself a favor and spend about $5 more. I now use a Planetbike beamer3, read the reviews about this light. Everything they wright about how good it is are true.Planet Bike Beamer 3 LED Bicycle Light with Quick Cam Bracket Mount

A great Blinker, January 14, 2009
By part-time inventor (Vermont, USA)
|
|
Set this thing on BLINK and it makes a great attention-getter at night so that cars, people, and other bikes see you. It connects easily with an elastic band that wraps around any handlebar so dont forget to remove it after parking your bike when in a 'shady' part of town :P

Does what it is designed to do, December 1, 2007
By CD (Japan)

I can never have enough blinkies since I ride in traffic at night. I've tried them all and this is one I like because it is lightweight, bright, and can attach/detach from your handlebars very quickly. It is so bright that I have stopped using my larger (brick-like) rear mounted blinky and just carry this little thing instead. I save space and weight without giving up "blinky-power".
The only downside is that I've never had much luck with these rubber strap attaching devices because after some time they usually break or pull apart and you need to buy a replacement. So, instead, I throw mine in the side pocket of my bike bag and point it backwards. The side pocket is made of mesh, so it shines through with no problem. Still, as long as it is working, this strap is a good solution to the problem of attaching and detaching the light quickly.

fine but one led stop working after a few months, November 28, 2007
By Kamran Diba (New York, NY, USA)

It's easy to put on and pull off (although sometimes TOO easy to pull off--it can come off if you brush against it). It will get you seen. My main complaint is that one of the led's soon stopped working and now its even less effective. If I could redo it, I would just buy a more powerful model.

Topeak Whitelite, November 17, 2011

This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a light I could use during my late afternoon or early evening rides that would alert oncoming traffic that I was there. This is the perfect light for my needs.
