5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Little Mirror, August 2, 2007
By Jhauxfan (Midwest)
I really like this mirror. It's very easy to put on and remove. And it can be used on any bike that I feel like putting in on with very little effort. It takes a little bit of time to find a place for it that can be viewed well but for what it is it works very well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good item for the price., June 8, 2007
By Iwhatt (Newtown, PA USA)
It is OK mirror for the price. I have trired it on the handle bar of the cross bike and it is good there. On my second road bike with drop handle bars there is really no place for this mirror. Front fork and handle bars are both bad for it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Sefak Spy Mirror is Just OK, August 19, 2010
By Denny G. (Carlsbad, CA)
I have two of these mirrors on my Bacchetta Corsa recumbent bicycle handle bar. The Zefal Spy mirrors appear to be cheaply made and I do not expect them to last very long. The mirror itself displays a highly distorted image, which at first is aggravating. All that being said . . . I like 'em! Here's why: They are very light weight, and they are small and compact. On my bike, they really look sharp and appear to be custom built just for my bicycle. Although the image in the mirror is awfully distorted, they clearly show what is behind the rider quite well, and that is really all that is important. They are a snap to install. No tools required, just stretch the rubber strap tight on the handlebar and hook it to the tab on the mirror. I purchased the mirrors through Amazon. The price was fair and the delivery was prompt.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good little mirror with multiple mounting options, November 9, 2009
By Mark Hughes (Fort Collins, CO USA)
I recently just purchased a second one of these mirrors. I really like the versitility of mounting options for this product. I've had other mirrors (i.e the "Mirrycle" - also nice) that mounted on the end of my mountain bike handlebar. While these provide good visibility they are obtrusive in a bike rack and are easily damaged (I've broken two). This little mirror provides a good rearview, due to the convex surface, although smaller than the Mirrycle. I've also yet to break one of these - the mirror is plastic instead of glass (a flaw in the Mirrycle) and is pretty tough.
I've got mine mounted underneath my handlebar. You can also mount them on the bike frame or front fork but I found the image a little too small to see well - but does work well to see oncoming lights behind you at night. It is easy to mount and remove if you want to play around with the location that works best for you. It also has a good range of motion in the direction of the mirror. Although you can't "lock" it in a position, it doesn't seem to move around while riding rough roads.
All in all this is the best of several rearview mirrors that I've tried - recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Mirror!, August 9, 2011
By rolyb
I was limited with my mirror options as I could not mount a bar end mirror due to bar end shifters on my Surly LHT. In addition, a helmet mirror does not appeal to me. I did quite a bit of research and decided to give the Zefal spy mirror a chance. My first impression when I received it was that it was pretty small. But after using it I feel that the size is perfect. My favorite feature of this mirror is how flexible the mounting is. You can take it off and remount in seconds. Not to forget the most important function being the visibility of the mirror which is fantastic.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Too small to be usefull, September 18, 2010

I bought it last minute for a long expedition in the Himalayas... When I opened the package in India I realized that it was too small and totally useless... wish I had checked before leaving.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Little Mirror, August 21, 2010
By Cary Strickland
I bought one of these mirrors to try out and ended up buying 2 more for my other bikes. You get a wide field of view for such a small mirror, but of course the image is smaller. But if you are looking for cars coming up from the rear the image is plenty big enough. I mounted all 3 mirrors on bike handlebars. I still have a large helmet mounted mirror that also use, but I let other folks ride my bikes and they don't have helmet mounted mirrors. I find myself looking at this Zefal mirror most of the time. Installs in seconds. Highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  THe BEst Bike Mirror For Road Biking!, July 20, 2010
By jetman (USA)
I have been Using this Mirror for five months and I'm by no means a pro-Lance Armstrong Biker...But I love biking like at-least 20miles once a week. I share the road with lots of tourist and local's coming to the beach and its sometimes good to know their coming up beside me in their automobiles. I have to store my bike so the mirror is easy to take off and folds up when put in my bag. Even better it doesn't scratch up easy when I just toss it in my bag. I had another mirror made by BeLLŪ and it broke when I set the bike down on the first ride. This Mirror can be placed in a lot of spots on the bike but doesn't stick out or get in the way! I keep it on my left side handle bar and it isn't a big screen but big enough. I also LOVE That it doesn't slip down when I adjust it stays...I don't ride mt. Bike but for road its MY Favorite bike mirror Ever!

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Sorry, not that good, October 4, 2009
By Mass Biker (Easton, MA)
Sorry I have to say this mirror just doesn't measure up. It's tough to find a place for the mirror that makes it useful. If you look at the illustration it shows multiple placements and it's true the mirror can easily go in any of those. Trouble is if you put a rider into that picture, you would see that in almost every one of those positions the view is blocked by the rider. I'm giving up on mine.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great little mirror !, September 25, 2011
By Randolph Coble Jr.
Have a Trek 7.5' and was using a helmet mirror. After a time it was causing strain on my neck so I wanted to change. This mirror gives excellent coverage when attached to the handlebar, as good or better than the helmet mirror. Looks good, and can be rotated in almost any way you need.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  I prefer the Third Eye bar end mirror, September 16, 2011
By D. Galloway
I've used Third Eye barend for years, but a friend suggested I try the Spy mirror. It's smaller, and has more attachment options, but I don't like it as much as the third eye. The Spy is almost too small, harder to view what's coming up behind. And it costs several dollar more.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Mirror for a Road Bike, August 25, 2011
By BikeRiderInTC
Mirror kept sliding down my tapered fork, then, duh, I realized I could mount it on the steerer tube. It can't slip down, because the bottom spacer is flared out at the base. It is now positioned within reach, so I can adjust it on the fly, and is now positioned closer so I can see what is reflected easier. I am not a weight weenie, but, hey, for the investment in a carbon bike we want our bragging rights regarding being able to lift the bike with just two fingers. I am a petite 59 year-old woman. Okay, so maybe I am a weight weenie.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Zefal Spy Mirror, August 11, 2011
By Nogyro
I tried a couple different mirrors on my Bacchetta Corsa Recumbent and none of them worked satisfactorily. Most of them kept vibrating too much or were in the way when you leaned the bent against a wall or something. This mirror is great! I have it mounted just in front of my brake handle and I can see right over my shoulder just fine. I put it on there, adjusted it, and haven't touched it since which was over 200 miles ago, going over some pretty rough blacktop at times. The lens is large enough to see cars just fine in it. Mounting is super easy with just a rubber strap. It's just inside the shifter cables so it's not in the way when leaning the bike against the wall. I'll be getting another one sometime for the other side of my handlebars.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Okay, but..., July 12, 2011
By A. Gale (Iowa)
I have two of these mirrors, one on each side of the handlebars on my Bacchetta Strada. They are easy to install, just strap them on, and they look good. However, I would like them a lot better if they were glass instead of chrome. The chrome scratches too easily, and it is harder to keep clean than glass is. The mirror on the left side got scratched, probably from the bike next to it on a bike stand. If I had the choice again today, I'd probably look for something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  BICYCLE MIRROR, June 15, 2011
By kroadbikewarrior
These are great bicycle mirrors. You can attatch them anywhere. I have one on all my bikes, attatched to the bottom of the drop on the handlebars. These mirrors give a stable view (little vibration) and are great for seeing what is coming up behind you at a quick glance. They are also easy to attatch and remove and stay in place once you attach one where you want it. BEST MIRROR ON THE MARKET!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Little Mirror!, May 23, 2011
By Jeff
I bought this mirror for my bike which is actually a recumbent (Cruzbike Silvio), It worked where others wouldn't. It might be a bit small for some people, but for my application it worked out great. It's small, light, easy to adjust, and easy to mount. It's not expensive so it would be worth a try if you can't find a mirror that will work.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty Happy with them, May 10, 2011
By Eric E. Haas (Holland, MI USA)
I've used two of these on my Bacchetta Corsa recumbent bike for two years now. I like that they are small and lightweight. I don't notice any distortion.

Frankly, the only improvement, mirror-wise, that I can imagine is to perhaps use a hand-mirror (the kind made for snow-mobiles). That would allow me to always look around easily behind me. But then again, it would be bigger and less aero-dynamic.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with these guys.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great mirror!!, May 10, 2011
By Spin For America
I really like this mirror! I can adjust it really easily and it gives me a decent shake proof image of the speed demons coming up from behind. I am going to get another one I like it so much. I just wish that they used a clamp that required you to screw the thing on, as you really need to take it with you when you lock up the bike, as someone can easily steal it.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Too small to be effective, no good mounting locations, October 12, 2010
By NYBarkus (New York, NY United States)
Let me preface this by saying I rode for over a year without a mirror and did OK, but having a mirror finally seemed like a good idea and I settled on this one because I wasn't sure where I would want to put it to see behind me the best, and this one offers flexible mounting options and an unobtrusive size. I figured I would experiment with locations and find something that worked.

A movable, flexible mirror seems like a really good idea, but it doesn't get the job done.

First, it's just too small. You can't get a clear view of what is behind you at a glance, just too small of an area to focus on for details. It's about 2 inches by 1.5 inches (yes I'm guessing here) and that is enough space to tell if there are headlights behind you but not much else without studying it. And forget about having it catch your eye with motion the way a rearview mirror in a car does, it's just too small. You have to remember to look at it, although based on my observations of other riders, anyone who has a frame mounted mirror of any size doesn't notice movement in it.

I tried lots of mounting locations, and the only place that works where you can see it quickly without moving your head too much is on the end of your handlebar. Mounting it low is just not an option, you can't glance down at a tiny mirror on the frame quickly enough and you take your eyes way too far off the road and the view is never a complete picture of what is behind you because some portion of you or the bike is in the way.

If you're planning to ride in traffic, you need to get used to the mirror's location and angle so you can check it in a split second, like in a car. This mirror doesn't attach very firmly, so you regularly have to adjust it. As often as not when I look down at it, it's showing me the ground behind my back tire or the clouds and I have to give it a quick tweak.

Now, I ride a commute that includes going down 5th avenue in Manhattan for 14 blocks. Maybe this would work for someplace with less traffic, but even on the portions of my commute that aren't swarming with taxis, I really don't have a good feel for what is behind me without looking over my shoulder.

Bottom line, a bike-mounted mirror needs to be bigger, sturdier, and there is really only one good mounting point - the end of the handlbar.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  cool, September 20, 2010
By Paul Davis (Austin, Texas)
This mirror is small and out of the way below my left handlebar. I need to find a way to keep it from slipping because the rubber band latch isn't tight. I'll clamp it on somehow because I like the mirror part.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice mirror, easily clips on, May 23, 2010
By Lee Trampleasure (Berkeley, CA)
I've struggled with finding a mirror over the years, and never found one that does quite what I want it to do. My conclusion is that none ever will, but this one comes close. I have traditional road bars with bar end shifters, and I'm able to clip this reflector at the front end of the bottom straight section of the bars (a bit below the brakes). This seems to keep them out of the way of both the brakes and the shifters.

The mirror's slightly convex shape gives you the "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" effect, which also means objects are smaller and thus harder to see. But if you don't have the convex shape, you get less viewing area, so this is a trade off I'm willing to live with.

When I'm riding on the side of the bars (between the brake hoods and the level center section of the bars), I cannot see the mirror, so sometimes I can't use it. This means I use it less, so I'm not getting in the habit of using the mirror and just keep looking over my shoulder (which, in some cases, is good because you let drivers know you are thinking of moving in that direction).

Bottom line for me: the flexibility of this mirror (you can put it just about anywhere on your bars) makes it a good choice. It's not too pricey, so go ahead and buy one and see if it works for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Best I've had, March 10, 2010
By J Harp (NE Texas)
The Zefal Spy Mirror is the most functional mirror I've tried. Very versatile mounting system and I find the image nearly vibration free. Useful if you don't like helmet mirrors or have bars suitable for bar end mirrors. Depending on your bar, may require a bit of experimentation to find the right spot, and may need a diy extension. I created one using a dowel and hose clamp.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Mirror quality is questionable, February 14, 2010
By Erik T
I mounted this mirror on the fork first but because it was far from my eyes and quality of the mirror was not that good, I actually couldn't see much. Then I mounted it on the bar - it was better that way, closer to me and I could see better, but still because of the distortion of the mirror, I couldn't see exactly what was behind me - unless the cars behind had headlights on, it was difficult to figure them out. What they have on the picture is incorrect - you can't see a car that clear.
Gave two stars (rather than just one) because it was easy to mount, and it seem to handle bumps quite well - i.e. I didn't have re-adjust the mirror despite the bumpy ride. Nonetheless, I returned it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Could Be Better, September 12, 2009
By bentbikerider (Albuquerque, NM)
Likes: The device is small and lightweight and fits in many possible positions on the bike. Because it is so small, the mirror easily retains its set position (the tightness of the mount is adjustable) and doesn't show much road vibration in the image.

Dislikes: In the device I received, the mirror surface is a bit warped so that image has noticeable distortion. It is not so bad that I cannot use it. However, the quality of the device is therefore poorer than my Cyclestar mirror, which has a 3" diameter circular shape, has insignificant surface distortion, seems as stable in image vibration as the Zefal, has great adjustability, and originally cost about the same as the Zefal.

If I ever buy a Zefal Spy bike mirror again, it won't be done online -- I will have to see the device in a brick-and-mortar store.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great little mirror, September 12, 2009
By We are here to make anothe.. (Topeka, KS)
I use two of these on my Bacchetta recumbent. They are quite small and fit on the bars without being obtrusive. I find that even though these are small they provide quite a bit if visibility, making it easy to keep tabs on what's going on behind you. I find them easy to adjust when I get going or to fine tune while I'm underway. All in all, these are great little mirrors.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Waste of money, February 17, 2011
By Cheri (Mexico)
I bought this mirror based on all of the raves.

First of all, the distortion is TERRIBLE. The mirror is so small and the distortion so major that you're better off with nothing at all.

The fit on the handlebars just doesn't work if you have adult-sized hands. Even when I put this on the very end of the handlebars, I had trouble positioning my hands comfortably.

There was no care given to shipping it. This was just tossed in the box with other ordered items and it was scratched up. So...distortion between the scratches, definitely not a good combo.

Please spend a few more dollars and buy something of a better quality.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  distortion, October 10, 2011
By bamm bamm (staten island,n.y.)
This mirror is too small for me. I don't like the distorted images. I do like the easy mounting but it just does not work for me. I might be a little biased because i have a different mirror on the left side which is much better but it's mounted on the handlebar end. I wanted to try the zefal because you can mount it on top of the hanldebar but it is too small.
