Dentist on the Ward is written for students and recently qualified dental surgeons working in hospital departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the first time. Chapters on Consent, Being on Call, Anticoagulation, Venepuncture, Minor Oral Surgery, Wound Closure, Histopathology and Keeping Out Of Trouble have been updated. Dentist on the Ward is written by two Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with decades of experience in supervising and teaching young dentists working in their departments. It simplifies the essential medical knowledge needed for hospital work and differentiates it from detail found in standard medical or surgical textbooks that they do not necessarily need to know.
