Product Description:

This is a step-by-step illustrated guide to the use of lasers in oral surgery and dentistry. The introductory chapters of the book discuss general laser safety, and further chapters cover general laser safety and physics, as well as the use of different lasers. The main focus of the book is covered by the technique-oriented chapters on the use of lasers in both soft-tissue and hard-tissue disease, including the resection of oral cancers and TMJ disorders. A major feature of the book are the case studies showing treatment and post-operative recovery of patients.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good for active surgeons, February 17, 2003
By L. Loza
This book reviews and describes the uses for lasers in oral and maxillofacial surgery and dentistry. Purpose: The main purpose is to serve as an instructional guide and reference for the practitioner using laser surgery. Audience: The primary audience for this text is practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeons or plastic surgeons using laser surgery in the oral cavity. Features: The best features of this text are the color photos and illustrations. The book lacks adequate references. Assessment: This is a good supplemental book for practitioners using lasers in the oral cavity, but I do not feel it is good primary text for beginners.
