Great choice for preapring for first dentist visit, April 15, 2011

This book was helpful as a preparation tool and beyond - my daughter really likes the play-acting aspect of the book (Blue pretends to be the dentist to a nervous Green Puppy on the eve of her first visit to the dentist). I changed "scared" to "worried," since really, a 3-year old has no real idea why anyone would be scared of a dentist. I did think the book was a little off in choosing that word but otherwise it's really great.

My 2 year old LOVES Green Puppy and it is hard to find anything with Green puppy! He loves the book and it has helped when he had to go to the dentist of what to expect. Great for preparing little ones for their first trip to the dentist.

Roleplay Helps Ease a Childhood Fear, May 24, 2008

"Blue's Clues" provides another tale to help ease childhood fears in "Green Puppy Goes to the Dentist," The power of roleplay is again demonstrated in this book when Blue becomes "Dr. Blue" -- a certified pretend dentist who shows Green Puppy just what going to the dentist will be like.
Another fine entry in the series. It introduces pretty much every aspect of such a checkup that one would expect -- rinsing, having an X-ray, a general cleaning, etc. In the end, Green Puppy is more than prepared for her checkup, and is able to help her other friends see that it's not so scary as well.
