I teach 3rd - 5th grade and some of my students reviewed the book The Lost Tooth Club. This is what they thought.
When I was a little girl I lost my tooth. Have you ever lost a tooth before? Guess what? I read this book called The Lost Tooth Club by Arden Johnson. This book is about a girl who wants to lose her tooth. She wiggles it every day to be in a tooth club. She wants to be with her friends. You should get this book for your kids because your kids might have lost their tooth.

The book The Lost Tooth Club by Arden Johnson is not very original. This book is not interesting. The girl said she wants to be in the Lost Tooth Club more than anything. Who wants to be in a club more than anything? I didn't like when she lied two times that her tooth came out. The illustrations are not that good either. It was not nice when other children laughed at her when she lied to them. That's why you shouldn't read this book.

Did you ever want to be in a club? How about a lost tooth club? I read The Lost Tooth Club by Arden Johnson. Olivia wanted to go in the lost tooth club but there is a problem, she didn't lose any teeth. The book is funny like the page ... There is only one problem. The book didn't tell why the tooth fell out. This book has humor, embarrassing stuff, and happiness. This book is good for your children. Trust me, you'll like it!

I was very impressed with this story. I was taken back to myown childhood after reading it. I liked the many ways Olivia tried tohide her front tooth when trying to join the club. I thought the story was very funny and cute. I think it is a good example for children that all things happen in due time. I would recommend it for any family library.

A lighthearted and engaging tale of a basic rite of passage., September 30, 1998

All the children of tooth-losing age that I have met recently (and there have been many) have appreciated this warmly illustrated book. They invariably come forward with stories of their own tooth loss, and identify readily with the characters in the book. Definitely a "must" for families with children of tooth-losing age!
