 DOA - cracked PCB, bad design. Avoid flipping the socket!, December 16, 2015

Came in DOA with a factory refurbished Nikon DSLR - can't charge the battery, can't turn on the camera. When (a major store) agreed to ship a replacement I took it apart. First, the unit is non-serviceable as the lid is glued (not screwed), so I have to pry it open with a screwdriver (not a guitar pick) and so a lot of cosmetic damage to the box. Once open, I immediately noticed that the PCB is cracked next to the power connector - flimsy PCB that is cut-through by design (!!!) for some plastic reinforcement of the box, - and that's next to the flip socket. I soldered a wire across and now it's charging as I write this review.
Disappointing quality and design for a Nikon product, even more so from a "factory certified" unit. Hope the camera is better. 8% 1-stars are there for a reason - quite high failure rate. Do not buy - get a knockoff or be ready to solder and glue. And AVOID FLIPPING THE SOCKET, as the PCB next to it can easily snap.

Exactly what it was supposed to be. Charges battery with no complications. If you have lost your charger (mine was stolen at an airport) buy this one instead of a generic one. Strait from Nikon so you have no worries about ruining your battery like off brand chargers can.
Did take a while to get here, I had to rebook a shoot because it did not show up as soon as I had anticipated​ but otherwise great product.

The charger I got with my camera didn't last long but this one that I ordered works great and charges really fast. I guess there was something wrong with the one that came with my camera because this is the same one and it works great! Nikon MH-25 Quick Charger for EN-EL15 Li-ion Battery compatible with Nikon D7000 and V1 Digital Cameras
