Product Description:

Basics of Acupuncture shows that it is possible to combine Western medicine with traditional Chinese concepts. A short introduction on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine is followed by a detailed account of diagnosis. The main part focuses on the description of the Chinese systems of channels, functional organs and the most important acupuncture points. The remainder of the book is devoted to treatment, based on western modes of diagnosis. The methods and applications of needling and moxibustion are described, and the most important points are given for frequently encountered diseases.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I wish I would have found this book sooner!, October 07, 2014

This book changed my life! I cant express how much I am thankful to the writers of this magnificent manual. I purchased this book to self treat my own problems. Ever since I was a kid I have had a small penis. I mean really small. Girls used to laugh at me and I would be scared to use urinals in the men's bathroom in case someone accidentally saw. Having a small penis has ruined my life. I have lost many friendships developed mood disorders and paranoia. One day I heard about increasing penis size with acupuncture and was skeptic but I was willing to try anything. I mean ANYTHING, once I visited a blind voodoo healer but that story can be saved for another time. When the book arrived I admit, I had no hope. Everything I had tried left my pockets empty with a small dick. I used the treatments in this book the same day I got it. Really, it was so easy. I applied the treatments like I read and after just one treatment, I woke up the next day with an extra inch. I have since used the treatment 7 more times and I am a hit with the ladies. My self esteem is better and I get respect in the bathrooms. I recommend this book to anyone who has a small penis.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent!, September 03, 2003

This book is excellent, which makes me wonder what the heck the last reviewer was thinking. This book doesn't have point location errors...I am a certified acupuncturist and I can assure you this book is not only accurate, but Bruce Pomeranz uses Western methods to validate the use of acupuncture in the mainstream. Many people don't like his "anatomical" method of relating the acu-points, but for Western trained health care professionals, it is much easier to integrate into practice, sell to patients and to explain using science than the traditional Chinese medicine. Let's face it, the Chinese knew what they were talking about 2000 years ago (or more!) but they explained it in a way that made sense to them. Well, we're a bit more scientific now and explaining the results we get with a bit of science may offend some, but it is progress because we are integrating old style wisdom with new understandings.
