3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Camera While It Lasted, January 11, 2016
By Patty Hahne
The Canon Rebel XTi was my father-in-law's first and only DSLR camera. He really liked it and got quite a bit of use out of it.

What I Like:
-------------------------
• It worked great with his collection of lenses that he had acquired over the years for use with is Cannon 35mm film camera.
• Auto focus worked great.

What I Don't Like:
-------------------------
• This camera used compact flash memory cards instead of SD cards. The downside to compact flash cards is that when you insert them into a camera, there are two rows of little pins that must go into the little holes on the card. If you try to put the card in and it isn't aligned properly, you can actually bend these pins. We know that because this recently happened to his camera. Once the pins are bent, the camera won't even turn on.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent "Starter" DSLR, July 18, 2015
By Carol
It is hard to do a product review in a way because this is fairly old camera. However, the Canon Digital Rebel XTi is a superb beginner's DSLR and is sophisticated enough for one to become versed in more advanced camera use. I purchased this to replace the body of an older XT that had a damaged memory card release button. I thought I had killed the XT as, without the ability to insert and take out the memory card, you are pretty much dead in the water. I figured a repair would cost about the same as this replacement body. (Wound up fixing the thing myself, anyway.) The XTi is a little step up from the XT having 10.1 MP instead of the 8 on my older camera. It has a sensor that cleans the mirror a bit and I think, more focal points. Obviously, the newer Canon cameras have many more features, but if you are just wanting to take good pictures, and have an introduction to DSLR over point and shoot, this is a good start. As I purchased this used, I was somewhat hesitant about the quality I might receive....I need not have worried. The seller, J. Fowler, was very honest, sent this very quickly and the camera is in wonderful condition. Looks almost new to me. This has been a great experience all around.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A Great Camera, July 18, 2015
By Bobbi Ann Johnson
I just bought one of these cameras (from a different website, sorry Amazon) and I did pay more for it but it did come with a lot of extras.
I am still learning my way around it but so far I really, really like this camera. This camera is a supplement to my Canon Ti 35mm film SLR (which I did by from Amazon). Both cameras use the same lenses and if I am correct the Canon XTi is the digital version of the Canon Ti (if I am wrong about that feel free to let me know).
Since I have knowledge of the Canon Ti I found it a pretty easy transition to the Canon XTi. The picture quality is very good, the camera is easy to use (it is not overly complicated), it is easy to handle and the cameras weight is just about right for me (a 62 year old woman).
Now I personally like film better as (in my opinion) the colors are truer than digital but that aside I think this is a great little camera.
I have been wanting a DSLR camera for quite a while but they for the most part have been out of my price range till I discovered the Canon XTi.
If you have any Canon EOS Rebel film camera those EF lenses will work with the Canon XTi or (as far as I know) any of the Canon EOS Rebel DSLR's.
In my opinion if you are on a limited budget as I am and you want a Canon DSLR you really can not go wrong with this camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  There are many reviews and statements on this camera online. I'm sure many of which are better and more eloquent than m, June 25, 2015

Item came today but I've not been able to use it yet. It came with the stated lens battery and battery charger but no instruction whatsoever or cables to view images on any other monitor. If you want-need to use it directly out of the box. Download the instructions in advance. If you want to take pictures of pets or children. You may not want a DSL the camera takes time to adjust even in auto mode.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice camera, April 02, 2015

Takes great pictures. Easy menu to follow. Fits great in the hands. Not to heavy. Great quality. I would probably buy the body only. I bought the kit lens, but I don't really use. I bought another lens that I use on it more.
