Product Description:

This book is written for dental hygienists, with special emphasis on the preservation of the natural teeth. The organization of the material, the style of writing, and the illustrations are excellent. This book covers not only the normal and pathologic aspects of the periodontium, it also has chapters dealing with the causes of the periodontal disease, clinical examination, patient management, instrumentation, and the chairside assistant for periodontal procedures.

There is a reference to dental literature at the end of each chapter which is useful as a reading supplement. A glossary of periodontal terms at the end of the book is helpful for better understanding.

Although the book covers more material than is required by dental hygienists in their practice, there are, according to the authors, no regulations restricting the capacity to learn. This book is extremely useful not only to the dental hygienist but also to all those who are interested or involved in training personnel in the field of periodontics.
